Love is a Many-Splendored Thing

The month of June captures Father’s Day, Flag Day and thousands, if not, millions of marriages and wedding anniversaries! Today is my co-author’s (Steve White and his lovely bride, Sherrie) 37th wedding anniversary. My anniversary is in November, but the message is the same. Love, true love, is a many-splendored thing, as the song goes.

When two people fall in love, that budding relationship is like a prism, showing with great brilliance the facets and beauty of love. As the relationship flourishes, each party finds out all kinds of things about the other party which draws them closer together. There are differences between personalities of course, but most of them get worked out as they grow together as a couple. When the wedding day comes, the couple steps out into a new, exciting, unknown future together. There are growing pains as disagreements come up and are dealt with as well as the mountaintop experiences of becoming a parent, buying a first house, and celebrating their love every anniversary.

Did you know that Jesus wants to have that kind of love relationship with each one of you – if Jesus is Lord of your life, He is your bridegroom, and you are His cherished bride! That holy and eternal relationship will be celebrated and consummated at the marriage supper of the Lamb as written in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 21. Walking with Jesus every minute of every day here on earth brings a supernatural union that lasts for all eternity. You will be loved and treasured as the God of Love shares His heart and blessings with you and your joy will be complete and overflowing. His word will never become void, and His mercies are new every morning and you can totally embrace His trust that is never betrayed or broken. You will be healed in body, mind, and spirit as well as you pray for those things and pray for others. He will wrap you in His boundless love and peace that surpasses all understanding!

I know all these things are true because I have walked with Jesus as my Lord and Savior for 44 years – never once has He failed me and has restored me from brokenness to wholeness every time that I needed Him. His love truly is a many-splendored thing and my reason for being here as His child on earth!

Blessings,

Joyce
