How This Book Happened
One of the miracles of our book is how it came to be written in the first place. Steve and I went to Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, MD and graduated in the Class of ’65! He was our star athlete and I edited our high school’s magazine, The Twigs. When graduation day came, we celebrated as a class and went our separate ways. Fifty-five years later, our paths crossed on Face Book. Steve had written two books by then – Please Change Your Mind and The 11 Things Your Kids Should Know, both of them based on the concept of thought management. I recommend both of these books for good, solid Christian reading!
After I read the first book, I casually asked Steve when he was going to write his next book. His response was to ask me to be a co-author on this book! We wrote the manuscript and hired an amazing Christian literary agent, Keith Carroll, who promptly suggested we rewrite the book with a focus on God as our Father!
We started this project near Memorial Day, 2020. I am an editor and had never written a book. Yet, the Lord continually gave both of us ideas and themes that a non-believer or a new believer might ask about being born again and living the Christian life! Some of the chapters literally wrote themselves. During the writing of this book, God worked mightily in our individual lives, bringing healing to both of us. We could not have done this without the prayers and encouragement of our spouses whose ideas and suggestions made this book richer than it was!
